Happy to announce….

I am happy to announce that my “Standing Wave” piece has been accepted by The Malibu Arts Commission for the next public art exhibition in the City Hall Gallery. This will be a tribute to Malibu’s surf culture through the eyes of Our artist community. “Art of Surf.” Free opening reception June 25.

Standing Wave is an engraved and cut acrylic sculpture with a wooden base and LED panel. The code runs through a selection of wave and ripple patterns that endeavor to be more organic and chaotic and less programmed feeling.

I am stoked about this. I built this piece with that show in mind and feel lucky to have been selected.

I just finished the follow on piece to this. As of now, untitled. A longer and thinner version where the wave crests. This one has the base in cherry ply vs the black painted Baltic birch I typically use. I lime them both. Need to wait until dark to see which one I like best.
