P4 matrix fun

More exploration of matrices. The shape of the matrix plays a big roll in how the patterns present themselves. Mostly this is because the patterns scale themselves using one or both of the following: matrix height, matrix width, larger matrix dimension or smaller matrix dimension. This results in the same pattern appearing differently in terms of their shape, how they fit within the matrix, and sometimes how them move. Square layouts look different from rectangular layouts. I have done rations of 1:1 (square), 2:1 , 1:2, 3:4 and 4:5 (now at the Topanga Canyon gallery) I had never done the fairly easy 2:3 until this week. I really like how that one works.

I found a stash of p4 panels that I had forgotten about. Used them to make the 2:3 ratio size which works out toe 10 x 15 inches. This adds a new size to the mix. My choices now: P2 panels give rough increments of 8 inches. The 04s give units of 5 or 10 inches and the p5s give 6.25 or 12.5 inch increments. The p4s make a “medium” size that is can be framed more easily than the p5s with parts cut on my laser (which has a harder time on anything bigger than 11 x 19 inches).
